The beginnings of Tshepo Nzimande

Tshepo was born in Baragwanath Hospital and also grew up in Soweto. He has four siblings, and although his parents’ names are unknown, his late mother, who has Motswana descent, was the second wife of his Zulu father. Her father was a waiter and her mother was a tea girl.

Career

Tshepo Nzimande’s profile reveals that he became interested in his acting career thanks to the encouragement of his teacher at school. This happened after his outstanding performance in a monologue play in 1987.

He then continued his journey by joining a casting agency called Gapper and got his first audition for Ohlsson’s Lager. The same year, he got a role in the youth television drama series Zikhethele and later in an international film titled rage to kill.

Nzimande never failed to seize the opportunity to develop. In his spare time, his work as a driver for popular gospel artist, Rebecca Malope, gave him insight into artist management and the music industry.

With that, he made contacts and built relationships, leading to his first and only debut release titled Mpompolozapublished under CCP/EMI records under the direction of Peter Tladi.

Still pursuing his musical career, Tshepo collaborated with his friend to create KK Productions and released Kau (Kwaito) and Kholeka (Gospel) in 1995. During his work there he discovered the late popular gospel artist Monday Tyamara in 1997. But unfortunately he left KK Records and joined Bula Music in 1998.

Tshepo Nzimande’s qualifications in the music industry have become high, funneling him to big platforms. He was a guest judge in episode 8 of the reality competition series SABC 2 season 1 I want to sing Gospel in 2008. Later, he was made a permanent judge in the third season.
