St Vincent Pallotti College of Engg & Technology obtains autonomous status
The University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred autonomous status on St Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology on September 7, 2021. The same was notified by RTM Nagpur University on September 24. To mark the occasion, the college hosted a short function on September 27. Dr Subhash Chaudhari, Vice Chancellor of RTM Nagpur University, Dr MB Diagavane, Co-Director, Technical Education, Regional Office, and Dr PB Maheshwary, Dean of Science and Technology at RTM Nagpur University, honored the occasion. Also in attendance was a close circle of university friends and supporters from industry and academia. The highlight of the function was the formal handing over of the Autonomy Status Notification document by the Senior Guest Vice-Chancellor to the College authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Subhash Chaudhari congratulated the college leadership for joining the select club of Nagpur Autonomous Colleges. Dr MB Daigavane stressed the need to introduce “content beyond the curriculum” to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Dr PB Maheswary encouraged teachers to adopt an outcome-based teaching plan and ensure that the specific outcome of each class is achieved. Principal Dr Surendra Gole spoke about Industry 4.0, the current industrial revolution and the urgent need for a corresponding “Education 4.0” to meet the needs of industries. Director Bro. Dr. Paul expressed his appreciation for the contributions of college faculty members and alumni. Bro. Joy, the president appreciated the leadership and staff of the college for the achievement and pledged all his support in the implementation of autonomy. Professor Gowardhan, Vice Principal, moved the vote of thanks.
