Saint-Vincent-St. Marie 2, Coventry 0

Gwen King scored a goal with under 25 minutes left to help host Fighting Irish win the Division II, Akron 3 Sectional on Monday night.

Emily Wentz also scored a goal for STVM, and Macy Askea and Laney King each had an assist. Senior goalie Lauren Dubravetz made three saves in the shutout.

Tallmadge 3, Northwest 1

Two underclass goals Isabell Richards and Abby Caruso helped the Blue Devils secure a Division II and Section Akron 4 victory at Northwest.

Farah Heestand assisted on Richards’ goal and Maddie Davis assisted on Caruso’s goal. Davis added Tallmadge’s last goal with a shot from 25 yards following a Richards assist.

Tallmadge will play seventh-seeded Norton Thursday at 6 p.m. in a section final.

Louisville 10, Ashtabula Lakeside 0

Ava Kimble scored a hat trick as the Leopards won their first-round sectional match.

Ravenna 1, Girard 0

A goal from forward Natalie Clark secured the Ravens their first victory in an OHSAA tournament since 2011 in a Division II shutout, Akron 1 Sectional at Girard. Goalkeeper Kayla Bisson recorded three saves for Ravenna, registering her sixth shutout of the season.

Ellet 10, North 4

Junior Sydney Tucker scored three goals and assisted on three other points as Ellet (16-1-1) won Division I, Cleveland 2 Sectional.

Ellet’s junior Alessandra Pinto has also scored three goals, junior Rachel Wenzel has scored two and seniors Trinity Brown and Kayla Suansing each have one goal. Wenzel and senior Ellet Cameron Tucker each had two assists, and Pinto and senior Gabby Kolt each contributed one assist.

The victory gave Ellet’s 10th year coach Justin Dimengo his 100th victory.

“We have come a long way in the past 10 years,” said Dimengo. “I fell in love with the sport because of the 2012 squad. It was my first year coaching our team here. They really made me fall in love with the sport and training here.

“We’ve shown a lot of progress over the last 10 years, we’re really building every year and getting better and better until this team of 2021. It’s such a special group to achieve this 100th win with. I just feel ecstatic to be able to accomplish this with this group. This is a very special group of seniors and I will definitely miss them when they graduate. “

Ellet will play host Walsh Jesuit at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in a section final.
