Puerto Rico continues to experience tourism growth in 2021 – a trend that continues throughout the holiday weekend.
Puerto Rico hotel occupancy rates are approaching 96% for Memorial Day weekend, according to projections by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
In a statement, the Puerto Rican tourism company called the figures signs of a “clear recovery in tourism on the island.”

Dipping into the numbers, the island’s north coast saw just under 100 percent hotel occupancy, followed by Portages del Sol at 97.8 percent; Portages Caribe with 96.8 percent and the islands of Vieques and Culebra with 96.6 percent combined, according to the PRTC.
“We are confident that this trend will continue over the next summer months,” said the Executive Director.
Puerto Rico recently changed its travel protocols to forgo testing for vaccinated travelers.
