Newburgh twins celebrate 12th birthday by receiving COVID-19 vaccine

Two fraternal twins from Newburgh, Indiana, celebrated their 12th birthday on Tuesday by receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Brothers Austin and Isaac Paul turned 12 on Tuesday, and the COVID-19 vaccine topped the short list of things they wanted for their birthday.

The boys were thrilled to get the shot, especially since they received their shots from their mother, who is a senior pharmacist at the Ascension St. Vincent Evansville COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic.

“Now I’m halfway through getting my second vaccine which, then, if I get COVID it will most likely keep me out of the hospital,” Austin told 44News. “I know a friend of mine had it and he was in the hospital and I heard how he was doing, and it didn’t sound very good.”

“Don’t be afraid of the needle, because it’s nothing,” Isaac added. “So if that’s what you’re only afraid of, come get the shot. “

Like Austin and Isaac, anyone 12 years old is currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Indiana.
