New area to watch near the Bahamas
ORLANDO, Florida – After a few days without expected tropical development, a disorganized area of clouds and showers has developed around the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Upper winds are expected to be marginally conducive to the slow development of this system as it moves west-northwest through Monday, followed by a slow north-westerly movement until the end of the week.

With the untapped waters off the coast of Florida being extremely warm, some development of this system is possible as it winds near the southeastern coast of the United States.
The National Hurricane Center is giving this area a 20% development chance over the next few days. It is too early to say if the chances of rain will increase in Central Florida.
The last name on the 2021 hurricane season list is Wanda.
If all of the names for the 2021 season are sold out, an additional list of names – rather than the Greek alphabet – will be used to end the season. This is new for the 2021 season.

Adria is the first name on the additional list.
Victor barely clings to a tropical depression status in the far eastern Atlantic. Sam remains a powerful hurricane as it enters the North Atlantic, but its gradual weakening is expected to continue.
The hurricane season officially extends through November.
