Kenyan national tests positive for Covid-19 in Jabalpur; contact tracing begins

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 61-year-old Kenyan national has tested positive for coronavirus in Jabalpur. The health department team has begun contact tracing, according to the official.

The man, who was staying at a hotel in the city, had a fever and the doctor had advised him to get tested for Coronavirus. The foreign national had given the sample for testing at a private laboratory and, according to the report, he was diagnosed with the infection.

A team from the health department visited him at the hotel and inquired about his condition. The patient showed no coronavirus symptoms, however, he was admitted to the medical school’s Covid-19 ward, officials said. Jabalpur Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMHO) Dr Ratnesh Kuraria said: “Contact tracing of the Kenyan national who tested Corona positive has commenced. A team from the health department visited the hotel on Thursday to test other hotel staff who came into contact with the patient. The health department is closely monitoring the situation in the city. We are trying to get details of the Kenyan national.

Two other people have been admitted to Marble City Hospital here after testing positive for Covid-19. Both patients have no corona symptoms.
