Police in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested members of a sextortion racket who blackmailed people via “Stripchat”, the ANI news agency reported on Saturday.

The arrests were made on Friday, said the (town) police commissioner Nipun Agarwal, quoted by the ANI. He added that a few suspects were blackmailing people through nude video clips.

Eight bank accounts of the accused were also seized, the police official said.

A few days ago, the Mumbai police dismantled the sex tourism racket and arrested two people. They also rescued two victims.

The main accused was apprehended with the help of the CISF and the airport police. She was taken into custody for investigation, where she confessed to her crime. She was later brought before a court which granted one day in police custody.
