Today’s arrest in Dabri comes days after Delhi police say they arrested the mastermind of an interstate sextortion gang in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district.

Delhi police on Tuesday dismantled a sextortion gang in Dabri, southwest of the nation’s capital, ANI news agency reported. Five people were arrested, according to the agency’s report.

According to police, gang members used to establish contact with targets through the Tinder app and extort money, ANI further reported.

Last week, police in Ghaziabad arrested five people for allegedly staging a sextortion racket and looting millions of rupees from innocent people.

According to information shared by the police, the accused used to communicate with people on an application called “Stripchat” and make a profit. Later, they created transformed sex videos of their victims while chatting with them.

A huge sum of money was extorted from the victims by threatening to disseminate the videos on social media, police added.

The cops recovered sex toys, jewelry, four cell phones, three check books, two passports, three Aadhar, PAN and ATM cards each, six web cameras and laptops and ??8,000 cash.

Today’s arrest in Dabri comes days after Delhi police say they arrested the mastermind of an interstate sextortion gang in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district.

Police said the accused identified as Nasir, along with his associates, allegedly extorted thousands of rupees from the victims by threatening to broadcast their objectionable videos on the internet. The videos were made by communicating with them on Facebook and WhatsApp.
