Daniel Craig has confirmed that he will definitely not be returning in his James bond role.

English actor Craig, 51, has been playing 007 since 2005, but has said the upcoming No Time To Die movie will definitely be his last.

Speaking of stepping down, Craig commented, “This will be my last James Bond adventure. It’s over.”

The star threatened to quit as a spy after 2015’s Specter.

However, he was persuaded to stay in the role of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.

Craig admitted it was the right move, continuing to tell Metro, “For my part, I’m incredibly happy to have had the chance to come back.

“We did our best and that’s it. It’s as good as it gets.”

Favorites to replace Craig include Richard Madden, Idris Elba and James Norton.

However, Daniel, who is married to actress Rachel Weisz, admitted being Bond wasn’t easy.

Speaking of breaking his leg while filming Specter, he said, “I had to question myself: was I physically capable of doing (another)?”

He also fractured a tendon in his ankle on the set of the new movie, adding, “I was like, ‘Oh, damn’.

“I have a wonderful surgeon who said to me, ‘Do this operation. You will be ready to run in ten weeks.’

“I was back to work in two weeks, and in ten weeks I was throwing myself like an idiot again.”

Craig will be joined on No Time To Die by fellow stars Rami Malek and Lashana Lynch, while Léa Seydouc, Naomi Harris and Ben Whishaw all make a comeback.
