Call for Contact Center Volunteers – Photo 1 of 1

The COLERAINE Area Children’s Contact Center provides a vital service for children from separated families to meet a parent or family member they no longer live with in a safe and neutral, child-friendly environment.

CACCC is looking to recruit more volunteers and is particularly looking for people over the age of 18 who are willing to donate a Tuesday afternoon and/or Saturday morning for at least one session per month at the Coleraine Center based at The House , Abbey Street.

“Tuesday afternoons are particularly low on volunteers and we appreciate the male volunteers who are essential for dads to feel comfortable,” a spokesperson commented.

“The Ballycastle Child Contact Center needs volunteers on Saturday mornings.

“The volunteer will be fully trained and supported throughout.

“The goal is to support the coordinator, as the CACCC provides a safe place for children from separated families to spend time with the parent or family member they no longer live with.

“It can be a tumultuous time in a child’s life with conflicting emotions as they try to make sense of what has happened.

“Volunteers both support resident parents and contact parents so that their child is reassured and can see their parent in a neutral and safe environment. The hope is that as trust is restored and communication improves, the center will be used as a stepping stone to more normal arrangements in the community,” the spokesperson added.

CACCC looks forward to hearing from anyone considering this and would like to discuss further by phoning Emma on 07899792958
