Baha Mar will host the second edition of the “Baha Mar Cup”, a multi-day fundraising event for celebrities, on November 6, 2021

NASSAU, The Bahamas, October 4, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Baha Mar Bahamas resort destination today announced the return of the Baha Mar Cup, a preeminent fundraising event for celebrity tennis taking place in Baha Mar on Saturday 6 November 2021. Tennis legends Andy Roddick, Mark Knowles, James blake, Jennifer brady and Drysdale Cliff will take over the grounds of the Baha Mar Racquet Club for a prestigious tennis tournament to benefit the Baha Mar Resort Foundation which supports Mark Knowles’ children’s tennis initiative.

The second Baha Mar Cup will feature a unique and energetic Pro-Am tournament as tennis enthusiasts take on legendary players. Young tennis enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Morning Youth Clinic. In the afternoon, tennis pros keep the crowd entertained in a lively exhibition match. The tennis tournament will conclude with a farewell reception, auction and awards ceremony, and a specially prepared dinner by six times James beard award-winning starred chef Marcus Samuelsson in his new restaurant, Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House.

The night before, Friday 5 November, Baha Mar Cup participants are invited to kick off the tournament and enjoy Taste of SLS Baha Mar, an incredible dining experience featuring award-winning culinary personalities from Cleo, Carna by Dario Cecchini, Fi’lia, Katsuya, and a special performance by singer, songwriter, humanitarian and philanthropist John legend.

The very first Baha Mar Cup took place in November 2019 and raised over 100,000 USD directly benefit those affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas by the Baha Mar Foundation. The triumphant fundraising event showcased some of the world’s greatest tennis superstars, including Coco Gauff, Andy Roddick, Mark Knowles, Tommy haas, James blake, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario and Bob bryan.

Mark Knowles is a professional tennis coach and former professional tennis player of the Bahamas. He won the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open, notably in partnership with Daniel Nestor. At various times between 2002 and 2005 it was classified World No. 1 in doubles. Since 2013, Knowles has been on-air for the Tennis Channel, providing in-game commentary, on-field interviews and tournament desk analysis.
