AXA celebrates the official opening of its customer contact center in Derry and is looking to recruit 40 people

AXA, one of Londonderry’s largest employers, officially opened its new Customer Contact Center in a state-of-the-art building in the Springtown Center on June 10.

AXA staff from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK were joined at the opening ceremony by local dignitaries, including Mayor Sandra Duffy, local MPs and directors of Invest Northern Ireland.

AXA’s Customer Contact Center serves the company’s extensive customer base in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The company’s original presence in the city dates back to 2007, when it started operations with just 20 employees. Today it employs over 540 people spanning customer service, marketing, claims, sales, human resources and IT.

Due to the continued growth of the company, he has over 40 vacancies which he is currently looking to fill.

Speaking at the opening, Claudio Gienal, CEO of AXA UK & Ireland, said: “The city has been a wonderful place for AXA for over 15 years and we have benefited immensely from the rich talented and enthusiastic employees. We will continue to invest significantly here to improve our business and demonstrate our support for the wider community.

AXA employs nearly 1,500 people on the island of Ireland and more than 750 in Northern Ireland. In recent years, AXA has provided significant support to local community initiatives across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, including, most recently, AXA Parks – a €1 million initiative which will provide grants projects to local community groups to improve green spaces in their locality.
